Butterflies In My Stomache

Every time I talk to someone about travel I become really excited. Butterflies start fluttering in my gut and my blood pressure increases. I also get this soppy smile on my face. It seems to me I've just described what it's like to be in love. Not that I've ever actually been in love before. Believe you-me, I've seen my fair share of Chick-Flick, Rom-Coms to last a lifetime and those are the usual symptoms.

So far I've been told by three different people I should look into becoming a travel agent for a full-time career. At this point in my life, I'm seriously considering it.

But how do you become one? What skills do you need? Education? Training? Relocation? What do they even earn?

I'm hoping to swing by my local travel agent in a few days (stupid graveyard shift!) when I have some time off. We'll see if I can get a run-down on how they work, who they look for to hire, what kind of education an agent needs, and (best of all!) what kinds of vacations do the agents take and are they on company time.

I did a general Pinterest search for travel agents and was able to find a link to World Travel Holdings. They seem interesting and I'm going to investigate further. Working from home would be amazing but I'm not sure I like earning $11/hour.

We shall see!

In the meantime, I will look forward to my vacation in February -- Disney World, here I come!

Cheers!
